Grand Re-Opening Summer Season 2023

Willow Message-01.png

Greetings Willow Wine Lovers,

Cheers to 2023 and us “finally” re-opening Willow Winery.  After a long hiatus navigating the liquor license transfer during the Covid pandemic and shut-down, the 5th oldest working winery and vineyard in the region is now open, once again.

Please join the new owners, Tracy and Harry Faulkner for the inaugural new season of one of the most historical grape-growing, wine making establishments on The Leelanau Peninsula.   We’re thrilled to “officially” roll out the new patio with the most majestic views and the most comfortable accommodations for our guests (new and old).

Join us this year as we say goodbye to the old, and welcome the new.  The first portion of the year will pay homage to John & Jo Crampton (The Founders of 30 years ago) featuring some of the greatest, fan favorites and cult classics such as:   Sweet Rain Chardonnay (don’t blame the name, this is the top seller at Willow, and we’re sweet, but not sweet wine drinkers and we love this one!) ; Road Trip Riesling; Oaked Chardonnay; the best cherry wine collaboration of all time and a very fine Pinot Gris featuring Frankie the Cat, Who’s living out his retirement and his best years ever in Elk Rapids with John & Jo.

Accommodations and N/A libations have been made for the designated drivers (whom we so appreciate), the four-legged friends whom we adore, and the babies and children of the parents looking forward to the perfect combination of adult fun and family fun all under the same roof.  (Or, on our N/A kids-only patio.)

Come back to a classic, and experience the difference a life-time of world-wide travels and wine-tastings across the continent will make right here in Suttons Bay.  #Traveledgloballylovelocally – Let the hospitality of Tracy & Harry Faulkner, combined with the fine wines, exclusive tours, tastings, group outings and private events reconnect you with our phenomenal piece of Heaver on Earth, where Vines make Wine, and hospitality makes memories.

Willow Winery & Vineyard is the perfect place to propose to the one you love, the ideal location to get married, the storied setting for the picture perfect photo shoot and the ideal place for a generous pour of your favorite North Michigan grown and produced wines.  From the Vines to the Wines, we do it all at Willow!  Including, Vow Renewal Ceremonies by our very own, ordained minister, Tracy Faulkner, who is also the Managing Partner and Proprietor.  Don’t’ delay . . . Book your reservation today by texting:  832-248-1188.  Although our "standard" hours will be Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00 - 4:00, we're finally able to "pour" so if you see the flags flying and the balloons on the side of E. Hilltop Road, come on in.  Or, text Tracy and she'll make special accommodations to meet and greet your group.   We’ll see you soon!  Cheers from your friends at Willow Winery (now) A Faulkner Family Vineyard!

The Philosophy & History of Willow

As the new owners of Willow, it is our great pleasure and joy to carry on the fine wine making and grape growing traditions created by the legendary, John & Jo Crampton who 30 years ago began their  great adventure in purchasing land on a hillside overlooking the beautiful bay.  There, they hand-planted every vine you see today.  We honor their legacy and applaud their pioneer spirit.  My husband and I look forward to carrying the torch (and pitch fork) in to the next 25 years.  Enjoy their story, as we begin writing ours. . . Cheers!  Tracy & Harry Faulkner -- "John & Jo started developing the property in 1992 planting Chardonnay and the following year Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.  We are in our 22nd year!

A beautiful backdrop and intimate space (and place) to host your small corporate affair, celebrate your special birthday, anniversary, engagement or baby shower or simply entertain friends and family on the majestic grounds of Willow Winery - A Faulkner Family Vineyard.
Opportunities to "Own Willow for the Day" are available.  Limited to 40 guests you'll have the vineyard and venue to yourself.
We also offer team building events and private tours "From the Vines to the Wines" where you'll have a hands-on, behind the scenes experience as a wine maker and vineyard manager hosted by the new owners, Tracy & Harry Faulkner and long-time, much loved Vineyard Manager, Richard Lauzon.
